Bankole Omotoso, the father of former Generations actor Akin Omotoso, and best remembered for his appearances in the classic Vodacom commercials, passed away on July 19 in Johannesburg after a protracted battle with health issues.
The most well-known performance by Akin Omotoso was in Generations, a major soap opera in South Africa, where he played the part of Khaya Motene. The well-known actor shared the news of his father’s passing on Instagram on July 20. The father of the actor is survived by his wife Bukky, their kids Pelayo, Ife, Yewande, and Akin.
Bankole Omotoso, Akin’s father, is a legend in Mzansi. Along with Michael De Pinna, he has been in various Vodacom Yebo Gogo commercials. He has also landed movie parts, including Mandela And De Klerk in which he played the former president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, according to Times Live.
