WHO urges globe to exercise caution to prevent new COVID-19 variant from emerging
The SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19, is thought to have resulted in some level of immunity in at least 90% of the world’s population, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Omicron variation was listed as a concern by the international health organisation one year ago on last Saturday.
According to the WHO, the more contagious omicron variant continues to cause significant mortality because of how quickly it spreads.
The number of reported weekly deaths decreased slightly over the previous five weeks, according to director general Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus.
