A preview for Thursday, 21 September, ominously reads:

“Darkness prevails as the curse envelops Mkhululi.” The teasers further unveil the necessity for Mkhulu’s half-brothers, Khulekani and Siphamandla, to undertake a ritualistic act of lashing Mlungisi’s body in a bid to break the curse cast upon their kin.

Friday, 22 September:

“The reverberations of Mlungisi’s passing send shockwaves through the family. Khulekani and Siphamandla must grapple with the weighty decision of how to end Umkhokha’s grip, entailing the symbolic act of lashing Mlungisi’s body.”

Mlungisi, known affectionately as Mkhulu, had earned the dubious distinction of being one of the most despised characters within the faith-centered telenovela. His actions, marked by the mistreatment of his brother Siphamandla (Nay Maps) and the misappropriation of the church’s finances, had garnered him a polarizing reception from viewers.

Beyond the realm of Mlungisi’s passing, the teasers also allude to a convergence of narratives surrounding impending motherhood. Both Nokubonga, Mlungisi’s wife, and Mabusi, Siphamandla’s wife portrayed by Hope Mbhele, find themselves expecting.

Anticipations run high as viewers speculate about the outcome of Nokubonga’s pregnancy. It is suggested that her journey might be fraught with difficulties due to carrying the child of Mamzobe (Deli Malinga), a character shrouded in a curse. A prior season had unveiled a sangoma’s revelation that Mamzobe was responsible for her own grandchild’s demise.

Amid these complex developments, Mamzobe makes a surprising return to her home, conceding to her husband’s proposition of a polygamous marriage. This decision comes in the wake of her sister, Zodwa (Mbali Ngiba), becoming pregnant for a second time by Mamzobe’s husband.

As the series unfolds, these intertwined fates continue to captivate audiences, weaving a tapestry of drama, intrigue, and human emotion.
