Thabo Mbeki criticised for wanting Ramaphosa present during ANC talks on Phala Phala

African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa’s allies in the national working committee (NWC) have taken a dig at former President Thabo Mbeki, saying that he needs a talking to, while some have suggested he should not attend Monday’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting.

One of the figures who allegedly wanted Ramaphosa’s presence as the party discussed the Phala Phala affair was Mbeki, an ex-officio member of the NEC.

This is in response to the independent panel of Parliament’s findings that Ramaphosa may be subject to impeachment due to his failure to notify the 2020 break-in at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo.

Recently, Ramaphosa’s friends have remained united and taken a strong stand in support of the leader against some of his opponents both inside and outside the party.
