Breaking News: Linda Mtoba’s Explosive Return to ‘The River’ – You Won’t Believe What Happens Next
Linda Mtoba Makes a Comeback on ‘The River’ as Nomonde Dikana
Talented actress Linda Mtoba is set to reprise her role as Nomonde Dikana in 1Magic’s ‘The River,’ according to the September teasers provided by TVSA.
Fans of the show can look forward to seeing Nomonde back in action on Wednesday, September 13th. The teaser hints at her character’s return with the following description: “Nomonde acts out when she realizes she’s no longer welcome in Lindiwe’s house.”
On Thursday, September 14th, the drama continues as the teaser states: “Nomonde continues to wreak havoc in Lindiwe’s house, while Cobra faces a harsh truth.”
Linda Mtoba had taken a hiatus from the show towards the end of 2022, coinciding with the departure of her on-screen father, Zweli Dikana, portrayed by the legendary actor Hlomla Dandala. Dandala left the telenovela after portraying Lindiwe’s husband, Zweli, for five seasons.
‘The River‘ bids farewell to several other notable actors, including Tango Ncetezo, who played Paulina since season one, and Lawrence Maleka, a multi-award-winning actor who portrayed Zolani for five seasons.
Back in February, it was reported by Sowetan that the International Emmy Award-nominated telenovela, which first aired in 2018 and received numerous accolades at the SA Film and Television Awards (Saftas) over the years, would be coming to an end.
Phathu Makwarela, the executive producer at Tshedza Pictures, shared, “When we created ‘The River’ seven years ago, we knew that we wanted to tell a story with a definitive ending. Now, in its sixth season, we believe the time is right to conclude the journey of these beloved characters on our own terms, while viewers still hold the show dear. As the saying goes, ‘a good dancer always knows when to leave the stage,’ and now it’s that time for ‘The River.'”
