The fourth season kicked off on a somber note when viewers learned that Thando had not successfully completed her grade 12 studies. The juggling act of school, pregnancy, and a tumultuous marriage had evidently taken a toll on her. Thando married her high school sweetheart, Siyacela Dlamuka, at the age of 15, with him being 16, back in 2019.
In the second episode, Thando had made a move from Ulundi, her husband’s hometown, to Durban in pursuit of her studies. Nevertheless, many viewers couldn’t help but express their apprehension about her health, speculating that the strain from her marriage might have contributed to her weight loss.
Despite the hardships that Thando is currently grappling with, the show has not been without its fair share of drama. Her husband, Siyacela, and his mistress, Manto, are experiencing turbulence in their relationship. In the episode, the couple went on a date but chose to use their confessional moments to vent about their deteriorating relationship.
Siyacela confessed that he was falling out of love with Manto and accused her of infidelity. He also admitted that he had proposed to her without genuine feelings. On the other hand, Manto expressed regret over dating Siyacela, labeling him a liar and asserting that he relied on her for his daily necessities, including food.
