Done Deal: Southampton FC Lands
Paul Onuachu, a Super Eagles striker, has been acquired by Southampton FC from Genk.
Southampton Football Club, an English Premier League team, has strengthened its offensive line with the acquisition of Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu from K.R.C.
Genk of Belgium.
Onuachu, a 28-year-old player who was born on May 28th, 1994, transferred from FC Midtjylland’s Nigerian affiliate team, Ebedei, to the Danish club in 2012 on a scholarship.
He was a prolific scorer for their minor squad and later that year made his Cup debut with the first club. In December 2012, he made his league debut.
He agreed to a new three-year deal with the team in June 2013, then in August 2015, he extended it for a further three years.
He went on loan at Vejle BK in early 2015 before returning to FC Midtjylland for the 2015–16 campaign.
After joining the Belgian club Genk in August 2019, Onuachu became a feared striker as he propelled Genk to greater heights to succeed.

To join fellow countryman Joe Aribo in the English-based squad, Onuachu signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Premier League club Southampton on February 1, 2023.
