“Discovering Mantuli from Skeem Saam

Born in Soweto in 1961, Dieketseng Mnisi is a renowned South African actress known for her portrayal of Nontombi “Mantuli” Seakamela in the popular SABC1 series, Skeem Saam.

From 2007 to 2012, she took on the role of Masechaba Moletsane, the pastor’s wife, in Stokvel, beginning her journey in Season Five of the show.

Throughout her career, Dieketseng has graced the screens in various television series and programs, contributing significantly to her success.

In Skeem Saam, this celebrated actress shared the stage with other accomplished performers, including Vusi Lerami.

Born in 1961 in Johannesburg’s township of Gauteng, Dieketseng grew up during the challenging times of apartheid. Her passion for acting led her to the theater, and she has since traveled to many towns and locations, currently residing in Johannesburg.

She is most prominently recognize for her role as Masechaba Moletsane, the pastor’s wife, in Stokvel, making her debut in the SABC2 sitcom in 2007. She also earned recognition as Ma Ntuli in the SABC1 drama series, Skeem Saam.

Dieketseng Mnisi made guest appearances in various episodes and serials, including Yizo Yizo, Zone 14, and Intersexions. One notable appearance was in the episode “Deep Secret” of Ekasi: Our Stories, where she portrayed Nokufa, a demon worshipper who sacrifices her daughter to attain greater dark power, featured in the fifth season’s twelfth episode.

Dieketseng Mnisi was previously married to Jabu Nkosi Chirwali. Before tying the knot, the couple dated, and their marriage lasted for twenty-two years until they decided to part ways in 2005 through a divorce. They remain parents to two children.
